About Kaki

What is Kaki?

Kaki is a daily assistant that actively helps you get around Singapore by public transport. You tell it your week (where you go and when), and it plans each trip, watches the live bus and train times, and shows when to leave on your iPhone's lock screen and Dynamic Island. It steps in when something changes and buzzes only when the plan does.

What does Kaki do without being asked?

Most of it. Through the day it checks your next trip against live buses, trains, weather and disruptions, decides whether anything changed, and acts: it moves you to another bus, says to leave earlier, tells you to bring an umbrella, or stays quiet. You can also talk to it ("I'm staying late tonight", "add dinner with Wei on Friday") and it makes the change itself, with Undo.

Does Kaki use AI?

Yes, but not for the times. Bus arrivals, timetables and walking times are calculated from official data, never guessed. An AI model is used for judgment (is this change worth a buzz?), for writing Kaki's messages and for conversation, and its messages are checked against the real numbers before they're sent.

Does Kaki learn my habits?

Yes, but your week stays yours. Kaki learns your walking pace, how long your rides really take and which way you actually go, and uses them in every plan. When it would change something you set, such as your usual time or your first way, it tells you and you can undo it.

How is Kaki different from a bus arrival app?

A bus arrival app waits for you to open it and look up a stop. Kaki already knows your trips, so the answer (leave in 9 minutes for bus 54) is on your lock screen before you think to check. It also handles MRT rides, walking, changes between buses and trains, and the weather on the way.

Where do Kaki's bus and train times come from?

Live bus arrivals come from LTA DataMall, the Land Transport Authority's official data. Train times come from LTA's published MRT and LRT timetable, and MRT disruptions from LTA's train service alerts. Routes and walking times come from Google Maps. Platform crowds, lift outages and station exits come from LTA too. Weather, haze (PSI and PM2.5) and heat come from NEA through data.gov.sg.

Why is a time sometimes off?

Kaki is only as accurate as its data. Live bus times come from the operators' tracking through LTA, and a bus that isn't tracked yet shows the timetable's time (Kaki says so). A breakdown not posted yet, a road diversion or a forecast that misses comes from the source, not from Kaki, and Kaki catches up as soon as the source is corrected. For a trip that really matters, leave a little room.

Does Kaki work outside Singapore?

Not yet. Kaki covers Singapore's buses, MRT and LRT, where real-time public transport data is excellent. Homes outside Singapore aren't accepted for now.

Is Kaki on Android?

Kaki is built for iPhone first, because it lives in iOS features like Live Activities, the Dynamic Island and widgets. An Android app is planned later.

What languages does Kaki speak?

English and Simplified Chinese (in Singapore's words: 巴士, 地铁, 巴士站). Kaki follows your iPhone's language.

When can I get Kaki?

Kaki is in testing on iPhone now and is coming to the App Store. Leave your email on the support page to hear when it's out.

Events, not tracking

Kaki needs to know you left, not where you are. Your position stays on your phone, and everything Kaki knows about you is yours to see and delete.

  • All of it, yoursWhat Kaki knows, in the app, shows everything. Delete my data deletes it all at once.
Does Kaki track my location?

No. Kaki uses your location only on your phone, only while a trip is under way (from about 20 minutes before you leave until you arrive), to move the card along. The server hears events such as "left" and "arrived" with their times and bus stop codes, never your position.

Who sees what I tell Kaki?

Your messages go to our server and to the AI model that writes the reply (DeepSeek). The conversation itself is kept on your phone; our server doesn't store it. What Kaki remembers about you is kept in your own words, and you can reword or delete each thing in the app.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, all of it at once: What Kaki knows › Privacy › Delete my data deletes your account and everything on our server, and the app clears its copy on your phone.

Be there when it's out.
